Above is an interesting piece I made for Design Class- I've always been fascinated with the legend of the Phoenix- you'll notice the name of the blog is Equinox- which in astrology is associated with rebirth. My birthday is on the Spring Equinox, or atleast was the year that I was born. I used thick, high-quality, black construction paper. As I started cutting the pieces with an exacto knife- I realized that the piece would be more meaningful, and dynamic if I made it a diptych- depicting the cycle of rebirth. The bottom part of the image represents the ashes from which the Phoenix always rises.
